SharpLink resumes Ethereum buying with a $7.85 million purchase after 8 months, raising its ETH holdings to nearly 876,000 coins.
SharpLink has resumed buying Ethereum after an 8-month pause. The company purchased 5,000 ETH, worth about $7.85 million, on Thursday. According to on-chain data shared by EmberCN, the transaction marks SharpLink’s first Ethereum purchase since October 2025. In the meantime, blockchain data from Arkham reveals that the ETH was sent from FalconX.
SharpLink Restarts Ethereum Accumulation
The recent acquisition marks a renewed effort by SharpLink to resume its Ethereum buying program. Previously, the company’s last purchase was 19,270 ETH, worth about $78.3 million. That was about 8 months ago.

Since the new acquisition, SharpLink now has approximately 876,285 ETH in its possession. Those holdings are valued at almost $1.3 billion based on current market prices. As a result, the company continues to be one of the biggest public corporate Ethereum holders.

Based on data provided by EmberCN, the average price of SharpLink is approximately $3,609 per ETH. But its Ethereum treasury still has an unrealized loss of approximately $1.789 billion, or nearly 56%, as of today’s market values.
Even with those losses on paper, the company has decided to keep on buying more of the Ethereum. This has led many market participants to closely watch whether or not SharpLink will make further purchases in the coming weeks.
EthLabs Launch Raises New Questions
The recent Ethereum acquisition follows a recent development just days ago. On June 23, SharpLink joined Bitmine and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin to create a new, Ethereum-focused, non-profit organization called EthLabs.
The announcement states that EthLabs will assume some of the duties formerly carried out by the Ethereum Foundation. While the companies have not disclosed their future plans in detail, the timing of SharpLink’s most recent acquisition has garnered interest.
Consequently, some crypto community members have questioned whether the renewed ETH buying supports the new EthLabs initiative. But SharpLink hasn’t formally connected the new acquisition with the charity.
SharpLink is still the world’s second biggest public Ethereum treasury firm. It is behind Bitmine Immersion which is said to have held around 5.67 million ETH worth of approximately $8.7 billion as of June 14.
Company Continues Business Transformation
Over the last 12 months, SharpLink has also undergone a change in its business approach. The company changed its name from SharpLink Gaming to its current name in February as it moved beyond Ethereum staking. The company is now shifting its focus to wider on-chain yield strategies and digital asset management.
Meanwhile, SharpLink’s financial results have been improving. The company’s total revenue for the first quarter of this year was $12.1 million. It was much more than the $742,000 reported in the same quarter a year ago.
With this latest purchase of Ethereum, SharpLink continues to be steadfast in its long-term digital asset plans. While the market remains uncertain, the company is continuing to build up its exposure to Ethereum and expand its blockchain business. Investors will be keen to observe if there will be more ETH buying in the coming months.
