Ethereum Staking Hits Record 34% as Rewards Fall to Their Lowest Level Ever

Ethereum staking reaches a record 41.04M ETH, 34% of supply, worth $77.7B, as rewards fall to 2.62% and issuance rises to 0.842%.

Ethereum staking has reached a new record, with 41.04 million ETH now locked across the network. The figure represents about 34% of the total ETH supply.

Merlijn The Trader said the staked ETH is worth about $77.7 billion today. However, the value is down 40% over the past year.

The record staking level comes while rewards continue to fall. Stakers now earn about 2.62%, down from 3.05%.

Ethereum’s market price is also sitting near an important recovery zone. The daily ETH/USD chart shows a price near $1,859 on Bitstamp.

Ethereum Staking Reaches Record Share

Merlijn said 41.04 million ETH is now locked in staking. This marks the highest staking share reported for Ethereum. It also shows that many holders continue to lock ETH despite lower returns.

The staked amount equals about 34% of the total ETH supply. That level reduces the amount of ETH freely moving across the market. However, it does not remove selling risk from liquid staking tokens or unstaking flows.

The dollar value of staked ETH is about $77.7 billion. That figure has fallen 40% over one year, based on the reported data. The drop reflects the lower market value of ETH during the period.

Rewards Fall as Issuance Moves Higher

Ethereum staking rewards have dropped to about 2.62%. Merlijn said this is down from 3.05%. He described it as the lowest payout offered for locking ETH.

Lower rewards can affect how investors compare staking with other yield options. Some holders may continue staking for network participation. Others may review returns against liquidity needs and market risk.

Ethereum issuance has also increased from 0.757% to 0.842%. Issuance refers to the creation of new ETH through network rewards. The change adds another data point for investors tracking supply conditions.

Ethereum is holding above short-term support between $1,800 and $1,780. This area remains important for the current recovery attempt. A loss of this zone could bring $1,700 and $1,600 back into focus.

The first major recovery level sits at $2,120.7. Before that, ETH needs to reclaim $1,950 and $2,000. A daily close above $2,120.7 could open the way toward $2,592.1.

Momentum still shows a mixed setup on the daily chart. The MACD line is near 41.8, above the signal line near 38.3. The RSI sits near 54.45, while its average remains higher at 59.79.
